While I am completely in favor of introducing and the long term adoption of clean cookstoves and do so in Bolivia http://www.cedesol.org , I wonder about the sustainability for economically challenged households continued use of electricity to cook with. Agreed, it is a clean cooking solution within the home, but one reason people use wood fuel is because of cost. Another consideration is coal fired electrical production and already over taxed electrical distribution in many of these areas that have need of clean cookstoves. Of course, I have also heard that illegal electrical connections are common in India.
