FAO – Water, food security and human dignity: a nutrition perspective

by Dan Campbell on July 30, 2015

Water, food security and human dignity: a nutrition perspective, 2015. FAO.

Human rights to household water, sanitation and food: Widely endorsed, these principles need to be translated into concrete actions. Alarming information on the double burden of malnutrition has been published recently. About 800 million people are undernourished versus well over 2,000 million – aged 20 and above – who are overweight and obese (IFPRI, 2014). Similarly, the links between deficiencies in household water, sanitation and hygiene, and food and nutrition security need to be
addressed.
